Another central iowa

Hello everyone.
John here from iowa falls. My wife and I enjoy hunting, deer , elk out west. She's killed elk lots of deer. I'm going to Colorado for first rifle. A high country hunt. I took my son's and son in law last year on their first western hunt. We hunt bear out of an elk camp I'd been to many times. Got 1. Had a blast and created many great memories. Hi again!

Welcome! I grew up in Hardin County, not too far southwest of IF, and I still have a lot of family up there. My brother has a house just off the river near the riverbend area. You and I have probably walked a lot of the same dirt in our lives!

I bet we have....small world. There's great deer hunting around here. Love this part of iowa...not much hunting pressure like southern or northeast iowa. We kill as big of bucks as anywhere. My son's shot a 16, a 13and i shot a big 10 all in the same day. Fun

The bird hunting is pretty solid too! We had a lot of CRP land up until a few years ago, and it used to be no big deal to limit out 6 or 7 hunters by 10AM. Sadly we no longer have all that, but the turkeys are moving in so that's good too. (Lots of turkeys up around Bradford as well!) Pine Lake and the Iowa River can compete with just about any other fishing spots too...
