I've got a reliable Mossberg 500 that has helped me bag more deer than I can count. It’s not the fanciest gun out there, but it gets the job done. With the season behind me and the gun all cleaned up, I'm thinking it might be time to branch out a bit. I'm eyeing my first bolt-action rifle for next year's muzzleloader season or just for some target practice at the range. I'm here to soak up some knowledge on what to consider. Really glad to join this community!

Welcome from Central Iowa.

An ancient Mossy 500 20 gauge was my introduction to shotguns.

If you're looking for a bolt gun, there are about 50 million different kinds to choose from. Decide exactly what it is you want to do with it, and then find out which one does what you want to do the best for you...

Welcome to the group.
I started with a Mossberg 500 12 ga then a 695 bolt gun, loved it until I got into muzzleloading.
Now mainly smokeless muzzleloaders.
