hey fellow shooters! just picked up my first 10/22, and man, it’s a blast! shoots great out of the box, but i can totally see why folks love tricking these out. wanna take it slow with upgrades, but looking for some suggestions on what mods or tweaks really made a difference for you. what should i tackle first to make it my own? appreciate any tips, thanks!

Get a good aftermarket stock and trigger. If you want you can get a new barrel as well to really make it what you want. I have built a few and they are fun for sure. Green Mountain make good barrels for a reasonable price but sky's the limit depending on your budget.

Yo, congrats on the 10/22! Easiest bang-for-your-buck upgrade is that trigger, it makes it feel way sharper. Next, maybe a scope or better sights, then stock swaps for comfort. Some folks love barrel upgrades, but I'd say take it slow, one mod at a time, see what really clicks for you

Big thing I did not care for with my stock 10/22 was the after travel. Have a spring kit and trigger on the way. May look into a lighter stock but I don't carry mine hunting any more. I use my lever Henry or the Rossi .17HMR for elevated blind hunting.

Now practice your shooting skills 😆

Replace the steel rod bolt buffer with a nylon one, get an appropriately sized nylon bolt from the hardware store and modify to fit, pretty easy and inexpensive.
Best wishes:)🙏

I see people who add all kinds of aftermarket crap to their pistols, rifles, shotguns . I can guarantee them that I can shoot my stock pistols or revolvers, 10-22's or whatever as accurately as they can with every whiz-bang accessory that someone is hawking to them.
I do have a Ruger 1-22 which I bought at a pawn shop with the heavy stainless barrel, and laminate left handed "Thumb-thru stock" I added a suitable scope to it and have taken groundhogs at better than 100 yards with it. I believe in buying what you want the first time and not loading-up junk on an otherwise functional and accurate firearm. I have found much such stuff unneeded and pure junk. Spend your money on ammunition and the time to make that weapon shoot the way you want it instead.
My opinion.
