Hey y’all, new to the forum. I've been mulling over the idea of setting up a truck gun for the farm and the backroads. What do you usually keep in your rigs? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Starting off with a truck gun setup is a fantastic idea, especially if you’re spending time on the farm or cruising down backroads. You’ll find a lot of folks here who’ve really fine-tuned their rigs for everything from taking care of pesky varmints to handling roadside emergencies. I’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind so far! Welcome to the community.

I usually carry around my newest rifle. So that's a Hi point Carbine in 30 Super Carry. I am kind of PCC guy and it makes a pretty flat shooting rifle. Will be better once I start reloading some slower powder I hope. But I just bought a 30 Carbine Blackhawk so a new rifle to go with that is in the works.

The best truck gun for you depends on what you're going to be shooting at. For my buddy, it's generally a 22 Mag or 17 HMR because he's shooting at little varmints. For me, it's my 223 because it might be coyotes or little varmints, and I like to vaporize little varmints.

My truck gun is a scoped Mini-14. Plenty of power for varmint and it's fun and accurate as well. I also have a Marlin 883 22 mag that I keep in the truck. One of the most accurate 100yd rifles I have.
