I've been trying to figure out if binary triggers are legal in Iowa. I moved here not too long ago, and all this gun law stuff can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve heard mixed things from friends, some say yes, some say no, which honestly doesn't help at all. I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to gun laws here, so I just want to play it safe. Anyone able to shed some light on this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Iowa is known for being quite friendly when it comes to firearms, especially compared to a bunch of other states. Usually, they stick pretty close to federal guidelines without piling on a lot of extra rules at the state level. But just because something’s legal under federal law doesn’t necessarily mean it’s all good to go in Iowa.

Under Federal Law, a binary trigger is illegal. As far as I know Iowa has not addressed this particular item so I would go with what the Feds say. Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
