"Cheap" handgun

What is your cousin going to use if for?

My first handgun was for concealed and carry. I bought a cheaper Taurus PT-111 in 9mm. Taurus isn't the greatest brand but this particular model got good reviews. I am pleased with it and have since bought two more on sale, the G2's.

I have since purchased a Ruger LCP in .380, a Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded in .45 acp, and a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 mag. All have a different purpose for me.

Can you and your cousin visit a pistol range? I hear some rent out handguns, that would be a good way to handle and test fire some.

Like BuckDoeHunter said, need to know what he he wants it for.
There are lots of quality handguns in that price range.
Do you have guns he can try?
Full size? There are 1911’s from Tias, Rock Island, and interesting one is a Girsan clone of the Beretta 92. Might be able to get a Glock 19 in that price range.
Smaller but not little, Smith & Wesson and Ruger have several.
Compact/conceal carry, Ruger LCP or Smith & Wesson Bodyguard. Both are 380s. BUT the little ones are difficult to learn to shoot accurately.
Normally I recommend revolvers for new shooters but if he is on the younger side, they lack the “cool” factor.
