Curious about Cerakote or nitriding

When it comes to choosing the best finish for a high-round-count pistol, should you go with Cerakote coating or nitride treatment?

If you shoot a lot, I'd pick nitride. It is part of the metal, not just on top. Cerakote looks good but if you use it hard, the edges will start to wear.
