Howdy from Clarksville

I'm a retired teacher and coach and former law enforcement officer. If it launches a projectile, I'll shoot it...except for a crossbow. I'd have to draw a line there. Most of my hunting these days is done with a traditional bow, but I own a compound, several muzzle loaders of the caplock variety, as well as modern handguns, rifles and shotguns. I've been married to the same woman for 52 years, with whom I raised two sons and a daughter who have blessed us with seven grandchildren: four boys and three beautiful girls. I'm an avid fisherman and especially enjoy fly-fishing and fly tying. I also do wood turning and woodworking. I've fixed most everything from sentences to firearms and about anything in between. My favorite nickname is Grandpa!

Don't draw that line to high as you may have to cross it in another 20+ years. With bad shoulders one replaced, knee replaced and the other going, pain stimulator in my back my Vengeance crossbow is the only alternative to bow hunting left. Hunt from enclosed elevated blind with a post support. Hard part now is climbing up the 8' step ladder to get into the blind. I shoot high power and 50 cal. for deer. .17 cal WMR for coyote from the blind on moon lit nights. When one gets into the mid 80's they have to adapt to the times.

Nope. If I get to the point where I can't use a bow, I'll go with a muzzle loader. Besides, in 20+ years I'll be well into my 90s if I'm still above ground, so I'm not sure that I'll be doing much hunting with anything by then. That's why I try to make the most of every day I am able to do what I love.
