I shot a historical military arms match just for the experience

There is something special about running older rifles like the Garand, the 1903 Springfield, the SMLE, or the Mosin in a match setting. By modern standards, my performance was not great at all, but I had more fun than I had in a long time. It reminded me that sometimes shooting is not about performance, it is about appreciating the history in your hands.

That's awesome! I'd love to shoot an SMLE someday. What is really like is to find a 7.62x51 conversion but those are generally too pricey...
