It did not feel dramatically sharper at first but it stayed sharp through work that would have slowed my usual knife down. That edge retention made the difference. I went home, looked it up and ended up buying one. After using it more, I finally understood what people mean when they talk about better steel.

That moment usually isn’t about sharpness, it’s about realizing your usual knife was dropping off way earlier than you thought.

I've never owned a "super steel" knife, and I probably never will. The best I've ever had is 14c28n and AUS-8. If I ever get a top end blade, I'm afraid I'll never be able to go back to regular steel and it'll cost me $120 every time I lose my knife...
