Picked up something new today and figured I’d start a thread for others to share too. Doesn’t have to be anything big — ammo, accessories, deals you found, trades you made — if it’s gun-related, post it up. What’d you find or buy recently?

Remington 700 Ultimate muzzleloader 50 cal. for a very good price, in the mail and will arrive shortly. Most likely, it will get converted to a smokeless muzzleloader of my dreams. I want to shoot some 1,000 yard matches with it but I have a long way to go before I do that. I know it may sound crazy but people are doing it now and with amazing accuracy.

We have a heavy rabbit population. Been eating Carolyn's flowers since spring. Haver eliminated several already but the small young ones keep coming. A rifle is not feasible in a side by side which is my main source of transportation so ordered a Rough Rider .22cal 6 shot revolver with 16" barrel today. Should be quick and easy to shot out of both sides with it. With CRP cover on 3 sides they have an abundance of cover but come to the buildings for their eats. Didn't bother with a garden this year.

Revolver is working out good. Have a big Horned Owl that stops by at the top of the flag pole where he has good light all around. He has taken his share of the rabbits too.

Very few ground squirrels around any more. Thinking more along the line of the ground hog, skunk, etc. Would even take out a Bob Cat if one showed his face.

My experience with the HMR is that it's a bit light for anything much bigger than a cat. It will obviously kill groundhogs or raccoons, but it doesn't always kill them right then and there. That's why I prefer the 22 Mag. It just seems to hit a lot harder.

Have a 22 Mag also that haven't sighted in yet. To many irons in the fire and when that tornado tore things up some it takes a lot longer to get back to near normal that it did to tear it up by far. Still have a 16X32 complete roof with steel laying upside down the hope to get rolled over Tuesday morning. Can't do anything with it upside down.

.410 pump is on order. Should be in this week or the first of next. With UPS and Fed-X refusing shipping anything related to guns slowed things up a bit.
